【摘要】:Inservice,thereisaspacebetweenashaftandaself-lubricatingPMbearingthatcontainsanoilfilmwhenthebearingisoperatingproperly.Intheeventtheoilfilmisdisruptedorfailstoformthebearingwillexhibitincreasedwearandpossiblyfail.ThereforetheabilityforoiltoflowthroughtheporosityofaPMbearingiscriticaltotheperformanceofthebearing.Theporosityofthebearingmustbeopentothesurfaceandinterconnectedwithinthebearing.Thisallowstheoilinaself-lubricatingPMbearingtoflowduringoperationtothespacebetweenthebearingandtheshafttoformanoilfilmandprotecttheshaftfromwear.Theabilityofagastoflowthroughthebearingreflectstheopennessandinterconnectedpropertiesoftheporosityinthebearing.Datafromthistestcanbeusedasaninternalqualitytoolandcanbereportedtobuyersofbearings.Anumberofotherfactorsalsoaffecttheperformanceofthebearingandthemovementofoil;factorssuchastheoilviscosity,operatingtemperature,load,shaftspeed,surfacearea,surfacefinishesandothers.Thistestprovidesinformationononlyonepropertyandcannotbethesoleconsiderationinthedesignandtestingofabearingapplication.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthepermeabilityofaPMbearingwhensubjectedtopressurizednitrogenundercontrolledconditions.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandardwiththeexceptionofflowrateforwhichthecm3/minunitistheindustrystandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
